Finals: The Stress Free Way!

In: Uncategorized

Finals. We all detest this time of the year when we feel stressed to the max but always procrastinate which leads many of us resort to cramming for all our tests. But… what if it doesn’t have to be that way? This year, go into your finals stress free (or at least a little less stressed!) with some of these helpful tips!

1. Lists and schedules

Before you go into finals week, make a list of everything you have to do, write down what you have to do to study for each test as well. Now create a schedule around your list. Schedule chunks of time for going over notes, reading the textbook, going over practice problems, etc. The harder the test or homework, the more time you need to schedule for it.

Make sure to schedule some fun time too! Breaking up studying and doing something else in between will ensure that you’ll be able to focus on studying later!

2. Find a good study environment

Now that you know when you’re doing what, make sure to pick a good environment to study in. Make sure you have music, snacks, or anything else you think you might need to study better. If you’re going to listen to music, I suggest listening to classical music, music without lyrics, or soft & mellow tunes – and make sure to find one playlist or one Pandora station ready to go so you don’t get distracted by having to change it. As for the location, make sure you can actually study! Don’t study at a coffee shop if you know you’ll get distracted by friends and noise and don’t study in the library if you can’t stand to be cooped up. Don’t forget to diable, disconnect, and move away from the computer!

3. Get everything you need for each class together and organized.

4. Stay healthy

By eating healthy, working out, and sleeping well during finals week, you can stay on top of your game. Try to get in foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids to fight stress and depression. Also try to eat food that has B-6 vitamins to stay focused. Exercising during finals might seem impossible but it’s important to produce endorphins to fight off stress. Just take 30 minutes to go to the gym or to take a walk. Getting enough sleep is always important but especially important when you’re stressed because the less you sleep the more stressed you can become and you can get sick!

5.  Stay calm!

Good luck get to work! And make sure to share your study tips below, on Facebook, or Twitter!

HI…..

Welcome to the “behind the lens” peek into Contemporary Expressions Photography - an upscale urban photography boutique in Downtown Denver. This is just the little corner of the internet where I’m able to share my passion with all of you, give you a peek at recent sessions, keep you updated on studio promotions and goings-on, and offer a little glimpse into my world…a world I cherish —– whether I’m looking at it through the lens or with both eyes wide open!

Kick back…take a look around…quack like a duck if it makes you smile…and remember – life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!
